Our story
Forby is a women-led Australian outdoor brand, here to make getting outside feel a little more like you.
For years, we kept running into the same problem. Big brands were treating women as an afterthought, fits that missed the mark, prints borrowed from the men's section, and not much in between.
So we decided to do something about it. Forby is a fresh take on women's outdoor gear, designed by women, for women, with fit, function and the kind of styling you'd wear from the beach to the pub.
Born in Cape York.
Forby was born in Weipa, on the western side of Cape York.
If you've spent any time up that way, you'll know the deal. It's hot, it's dusty, the roads are rough, the fishing is unreal, there's crocs in every body of water, and you spend more time outside than in, whether you planned to or not.
It's also the kind of place that sorts out what gear's worth keeping pretty quickly. And honestly? Most of what we'd brought along wasn't cutting it.
So Forby is shaped by where it came from — built for women who live outdoors, designed for the way we actually use it, and made for wherever the day takes you.
Meet the founders.
Forby was founded by us — Zara and Mo — two friends who met in Weipa.
Between camping trips, long days in the sun and weekends on the water, we kept running into the same problem — outdoor gear that didn't feel like us.
For us, Forby is more than flattering outdoor gear. It's about backing a community of women who feel most themselves outdoors, and making the kind of gear that helps them get out there more.
The inspo behind our brand name.
Our name is a nod to the 4WDs that take us everywhere worth going — packed for camping trips, hauled down dirt roads, and bogged on beaches more often than not.
